Flossing for Your Best Spring Smile

Flossing is an important aspect of dental health that will really make your smile shine. The American Dental Association recommends flossing at least once a day to help remove plaque. Plaque can hide in many areas where your toothbrush cannot reach, including between your teeth. Over time plaque hardens into calculus or tartar, so removing it daily is important.

Unlike a toothbrush, which cleans the tops and outer surfaces of the teeth and gums, floss is an interdental cleaner– “it’s designed specifically to clean the tight spaces between the teeth and the gap between the base of the teeth and the gums” says the American Dental Association. While antimicrobial mouthwash can kill the bacteria that form plaque, it cannot remove stubborn bits of foods and tartar between the teeth.

For a brighter smile and healthier teeth and gums, add flossing to your daily routine. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Call us at 1-855-466-3327.
